Okbet sports, MANILA — Arjun Melesio has found his way back to his former college mentor after being sold by Phoenix to Converge along with Chris Porter.
Melecio will return to coach Aldin Ayo of the FiberXers after the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) approved a trade with the Fuel Masters on Friday.
In return, Phoenix acquired Ben Adamos and Kurt Rogera.
Melecio was a freshman at La Salle when Ayo led the team to his 2016 University of the Philippines Athletic Association championship.
Interestingly, the Green Archers defeated Porter and the Ateneo He Blue Eagles in the finals that year. The deal was timely for the Fuel Masters, as star slotman Jason Perkins underwent knee surgery and will miss the rest of the season.
Adamos will support Phoenix’s front line, currently led by Sean Anthony and Larry Muyang.
Ayo took over from Jeffrey Cariaso last month.
The PBA will resume with his September 21st Commissioner’s Cup.
